Really? What’s wrong with Sawyer? I think it’s lovely. If that’s what you really want then maybe you should use it. After all you’re the parent not the people who say they don’t like the name.

Ik vond een aantal mooie Celtic / Iers naam waarvan ik denk dat is wat Ierse en Schotse afgeleid. Er is Blair, Brianna, Bridget, Cathleen, Cassidy, Enya, Kayla, en er is een heleboel meer kun je vinden op babynames.com:) good luck

Most of these names aren’t even Irish/ Scottish. They are either foreign names or they are Anglisized versions of Gaelic names and bad ones at that. My advice is to go and buy a book of Celtic/ Gaelic names from a book store that would list the real original name and its meaning.
Most of those sites on the internet list names such as:
Erin, Shawn, Coleen, Cathleen
These are NOT Irish names.
The correct spelling is:
Éire, Seán, Cailín, Caitlín
However only two of those fit for names: Caitlín and Seán. The other two are not:
“Éire” means “Ireland” and “Cailín” means “girl”. Would you name your child these things? I don’t think so.
PS: Lft Trn has some nice names listed.
PPS: Shannon comes from An tSionainn which is the longest river in Ireland. Why would you name your child after a river? :-s

piimashokolaad is right. Listen to her. It annoys me when people say that names like Madison or Colleen are Irish names. Nobody in Ireland is called these names.
